I am trying to think harder about this poem: who expresses this view, in what context, what is the narrative purpose, what is the narrative effect?
Does this cultural critique, in all its uncomfortable and provocative absoluteness, make us pause and reflect on our own views of what is true? Does it, paradoxically, invite us to challenge our own absolute convictions?
